The best dog food

If you are looking for dog treats or "the best dog food , keep in mind that your pet is an individual, just like you are. Some dogs prefer dry food, other dogs prefer canned pet food. Some dogs prefer chicken bones, some prefer beef dog treats...

Science diet dog food

My border collie prefers... food! Not special dog food, yet any food. He finishes his plate within the minute, seemingly with the same appetite whatever pet food I feed him. So much for science...

So the master, so the dog, my pet eats rice :-) So far for healthy dog food ads or science diet dog food about canines needing to have a balanced diet, blablabla: my border collie has a very shiny fur and runs the whole day long after the chickens (no wonder they hardly lay eggs :-) )

Yet no more chicken bones though for my border collie, as he bites them in tiny pieces and almost chocked on one... Therefore I give now beef dog bones or as usual try out a healthy food bakery recipe.

Dog Bones Treats

  • 1/2 cup (125ml) powdered milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) rice flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
  • 5 teaspoons chicken or beef broth
  • 1 jar baby food between 4 to 6 fluid ounce (120-180ml) (meat, beef, strained...any flavor)

Combine all ingredients well. Form into a ball. Roll dough out on a floured surface. Cut out dog bones shapes. Bake in a 350 degree F (175 degree ) oven for 25-30 minutes. Let your dog bones cool. These gourmet dog treats should be hard and crunchy when finished.

Home made dog treats are much more pet safe than any pet product your money can buy. With all respect to the pet food industry: pets fed with home made food do need less pet medication! 2. Using your fingers, pat out dough onto cookie sheet to half inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter or knife and remove scraps. Scraps can be formed again and baked.

3. Bake 25-30 minutes. Remove from tray and cool on rack.
